Meet the Staff

Kevin Young

Executive Director

“The interaction with the residents and staff makes everyone feel like they are part of a community. The reward is seeing a senior thrive because of all the socialization and activities available at the Timbers.”

Kevin joined the Timbers in 2017 in business development and quickly moved to Executive Director. Prior to joining the Timbers, he worked as a medical social worker at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago. Kevin has a Bachelor of Arts in social work from Western Illinois University and is a resident of Plainfield. He enjoys biking, running and spending time with his two teenage sons. He also works with the Chicago Lab Rescue as a foster, transportation and screening for adoption.

Sheila Albor

Director of Marketing

“Every resident touches my heart and becomes a part of my Timbers family. I especially enjoy touring prospective residents; I love to see the excitement in their faces when they find out just how flexible and caring we truly are. Working at the Timbers helped influence my career path and made me a better, more patient, loving, and caring person.”

Sheila joined the Timbers in 2007 and, to date, has held four different roles beginning as a receptionist. Currently she is Director of Marketing with responsibilities in leasing as well. She has been a Shorewood Chamber Ambassador since 2012 and a member of the Three Rivers Chapter of Continuity of Care. For the past two years, she has been the chair of Committee Sponsorship for the annual Alzheimer’s Walk. In addition, she is a member of Joliet’s Council for Working Women. Sheila graduated from Joliet West High School, and in 2014, she graduated Cum Laude from Aurora University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a minor in Marketing.

Amy Odell

Director of Activities

“I love spending time with residents and listening to their stories and memories. I am very blessed to be part of what makes them smile, have fun and be involved. The Timbers is like a second home to me, everyone here feels like family.”

Amy has been involved with the Timbers since 2010. She has been a private caregiver, activities assistant, sittercise teacher, and now Director of Activities. Amy says she truly feels at home at the Timbers and enjoys keeping busy right along with the residents. She knows each resident by name and loves getting to know new residents to find out what activities will make them feel at home. Prior to joining the Timbers, Amy was a legal assistant. She is a Partylite Consultant and is very involved with St. Mary’s Church in Minooka. She is an active member of the St. Mary’s CCW and is the committee chairperson for the annual Fall fundraiser.

Pam Stortz

Restaurant Manager

“For many residents, dining is a social hour. So, we’re always striving to create a fun, relaxed environment in the restaurant. Seeing the smile on the residents faces when they’re enjoying themselves – for instance, when we deliver a birthday cake and sing – is priceless. I’m always looking for ways to make things fun while providing the best service possible!”

Pam joined the Timbers as restaurant manager in 2006. She began visiting the Timbers as a volunteer in 2003. Pam was initially in charge of welcome baskets and soon started running the Timbers’ annual craft show. She is now responsible for ensuring the appearance and sanitation of the dining room and meeting the needs of the residents. She also keeps the restaurant servers motivated and working as a team. Pam is a member of Kiwanis of Shorewood, Shorewood Chamber of Commerce and Minooka Chamber of Commerce.

Eustolia (Toya) Dorado

Housekeeping Supervisor

“I sincerely enjoy working with seniors. My goal is to do my best for the residents every day. It is an honor to work at The Timbers which, to me, is like family.”

Toya joined The Timbers in 2012 as part of the housekeeping staff. Promoted to Housekeeping Supervisor, she manages the department and oversees nine housekeeping employees.

Gerardo Porras

Maintenance Supervisor

“I like working at the Timbers because every day is different, and I especially enjoy all the residents and my co-workers. This feels like my second home.”

Gerardo joined the Timbers in 2013. He is in charge of the maintenance department which includes all aspects of the building and grounds. He makes certain all residents’ needs are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner. Prior to the Timbers Gerardo was the supervisor of a Bally’s Total Fitness Facility for 12 years. He lives in Berwyn, IL.
