The Timbers of Shorewood presents a Springtime Health Fair from 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, May 10, in the ballroom of The Timbers retirement community, 1100 N. River Road.
The event is free and open to the entire community.
“We hope the public will take advantage of all the free health screenings we will offer,” said Faith Ann Varga, executive director of The Timbers. “In addition, there will be an abundance of health information available from the many participating companies, organizations and individuals.”
Many generous companies and individuals will provide services such as:
- Free vein screening
- Free mini massages
- Free blood pressure checks
- Free bone density checks
- Free glaucoma checks
Participating at the Springtime Health Fair are the Illinois Retina Associates, Shorewood Troy Public Library, Villa Franciscan Rehab, Angel’s Grace Hospice, Rosewood Care Center, Advanced Physicians, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, Alzheimer’s Association, Senior Spirit from Presence St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Geriatrician Dr. Bhavesh R. Gandhi, Newsome Home Health, Jewel Osco Pharmacy, Shorewood Chamber of Commerce, Buds Ambulance, Joliet Hospice, Parc Skilled/Rehab, First Light Homecare, Allied Homecare, Senior Solutions, J.D. Brown Pharmacy and Walmart Health and Wellness.
Special guests are State Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant and State Representative Mark Batinick.
Door prizes will be awarded.
Named the 2016 Business of the Year by the Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce, The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community that provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services.
