The Alzheimer’s Association will host a special educational workshop titled, “Dementia Conversations” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.
A guest presenter from the Alzheimer’s Association will offer tips and how to have honest and caring conversations with family members about going to the doctor, deciding when to stop driving, and making legal and financial plans.
Dementia is not a specific disease. It’s an overall term that describes a group of symptoms associated with a decline in memory or other thinking skills severe enough to reduce a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases.
