Doug Dvorak will present a travel program called “The Middle East” at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.
Dvorak spends several months of the year exploring the world, photographing, documenting and compiling his travels into customized travel programs for presentations and workshops. He will share his unique experiences with participants.
The Middle East, a region roughly encompassing a majority of Western Asia and Egypt, is the origin of major religions such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Towns like Dahab and the city of Ephesus are rich in culture, and natural wonders like the Pamukkale or “Cotton Castle” are breathtaking.
In addition, many man-made landmarks such as the Hagia Sophia (a church-turned-mosque-turned-museum) or the Petra, Temple Complex of Karnak, Giza Plateau and Baalbek abound.
“The Middle East is full of stunning locations and has a remarkably rich history,” Dvorak said. “I look forward to sharing the beauty of this region with the Timbers’ audience.”
Dvorak is a professional speaker who hosts motivational presentations, seminars and workshops for small businesses, civic organizations, individual investors and entrepreneurs and numerous Fortune 1000 companies. His popularity is due to his great sense of humor. He is a graduate of the Player’s Workshop of Second City, one of the oldest and most prestigious improvisational comedy schools in the world.
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
