Larry Bergnach presents a program titled, “The Funniest Comedians of Radio and TV,” at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd. The program is free and open to the public.
A renowned humorist and nostalgia aficionado, Bergnach will do some of the jokes, routines and stories of Charlie Chaplin, Milton Berle, Jack Benny, Groucho Marx, Jackie Gleason, Sid Caesar, Danny Thomas, Lucille Ball, Steve Allen, Johnnie Carson and more.
Bergnach takes his show all across America making people laugh. His shows remember the “good old days.” They are fun and interactive and can range from big band music to trivia and old radio.
For more than 30 years, Bergnach worked in pharmaceutical sales. For an additional 15 years, he served as an instructor for Dale Carnegie. His seminars focused on corporate team building and stress management. He has also served as president of the Alsip/Berwyn Toastmasters, an international public speaking organization.
Bergnach is a free speaker with Chicago area FreeSpeakers.org – a pro bono speakers bureau.
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer. Residents, whose needs may change, are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate care.
