A monthly class titled “Music Therapy” will take place at a new time and day. The next session is at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Road. The public is invited to this free class.
Taught by musician Stacy Jager, the class features gentle movement accompanied by music. Jager is a music therapist whose primary musical instrument is the piano. However, she also plays guitar and utilizes a variety of musical instruments in her classes.
As a pianist, Jager focuses on an easy listening style of music. She also plays her own compositions.
“We’ll do hand motions to songs such as ‘He’s got the Whole World in His Hands’ and ‘My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean’,” Jager said. “Sometimes class members will use scarves or maracas along with movement.”
“Music Therapy” will take place on the first Monday of each month. The public is warmly welcome to join the free class.
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides senior independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Residents whose needs may change are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate and compassionate care.
