Ry Petermann will perform at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020, in the piano lounge at The Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood. The event is free and open the public.
Using his guitar, harmonica, piano, mandolin, banjo and tambourine, Petermann presents a lively variety show.
Petermann started his first band in fifth grade. Before graduating from high school, he was singing on Chicago radio commercials. Since 1974, Petermann’s occupation has been performing music, writing songs and lyrics. He played with a band called “Wooden Planet.” This band performed in 27 states and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, and then to Los Angeles, California.
His most thrilling show with “Wooden Planet” was a headliner at the famed Troubadour in West Hollywood. Some remarkable musicians got their start there including The Eagles, Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt.
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides senior independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services.
