Jerome J. Goergen, elder law attorney with Elder Law Planning, will present a educational workshop for caregivers and children of elderly parents titled “Planning for Life’s Journey” at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday Aug. 5, 2015, at the Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.
Topics covered at the workshop include: how to protect your assets, how “Medicaid Asset Protection Trusts” work, and veteran benefits you may be entitled to receive.
Goergen regularly speaks at events throughout the Chicagoland area and teaches seniors and their families about various aspects of estate planning and how to protect their assets when applying for Medicaid assistance.
The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
