Chris Smith, D.C. will present a seminar titled “Stress & All its Factors” at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.
Stress affects millions of Americans every day. In fact, many people suffer from chronic stress but there are many ways to reduce stress including a chiropractic session.
If left untreated, chronic stress can lead to:
• Insomnia
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Eating Disorders
• Muscle Tension
• Bowel Problems
In a typical chiropractic session, a person’s spinal cord is manipulated through applied pressure and turns. With proper diet and rest accompanying regular chiropractic adjustments, the body is kept free of physical reactions to stress. In addition, exercises to maintain spinal health may be recommended outside of regular treatments.
Dr. Smith practices the most current chiropractic techniques and is also a licensed acupuncturist. He received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and earned his doctorate in chiropractic medicine from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Illinois Chiropractic Society.
In addition, Dr. Smith is a supporter of the American Cancer Society and has recently spent time in Washington, D.C., as a lobbyist for the chiropractic profession. He currently practices at Plainfield Chiropractic and has been a longtime resident of Plainfield.
