Ten Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s by the Alzheimer’s Association

The Timbers of Shorewood is hosting a free program presented by the Alzheimer’s Association titled, “Ten Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s” at the Timbers of Shorewood retirement community, 1100 N. River Road. Currently this event is limited to residents only.

Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior. The Timbers’ program will present information about:

  • Typical age-related changes
  • Common warning signs of Alzheimer’s
  • How to approach someone about memory concerns
  • Current research and treatments available to treat symptoms
  • Alzheimer’s Association resources

“Everyone is welcome,” said Amy Odell, director of activities at The Timbers. “The subject matter will likely interest adult children, baby boomers and older adults.”

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides senior independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Residents whose needs may change are able to stay in the same place and receive appropriate and compassionate care. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay – a weekend, a week, a month or longer.

Typically the public is invited, and admission is free. Currently this event is limited to residents only. For more information call 815-609-0669.
