Violinist Anthony “Tony” Kawalkowski

Anthony KawalkowskiOrchestra leader and violinist Anthony “Tony” Kawalkowski will entertain residents and the public at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood. The performance is free and open to the public.

Kawalkowski is a Chicago native, renowned violinist and orchestra leader. His energy on stage and off is contagious.

He was named after his uncle who was also a renowned musician and his first teacher. He also studied with Herb Miska, concertmaster from The Wayne King Orchestra and George Perlman at the American Conservatory of Music.

Kawalkowski has played for national and international dignitaries such as Pope John Paul II, Cardinal Bernadine, Cardinal Francis George, Lech Kaczynski (former President of Poland), Michel Legrand, Jenny Mancini, Arnold Palmer and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Named the 2016 Business of the Year by the Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce, The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community that provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services.
